Janie Snieder: MA, LIMHP, NCC – A Better Way Therapy
Janie Snieder graduated in 2001 with a M.A. in Counseling from the University of South Dakota. Previously she had received a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1999. She has been providing mental health counseling in South Sioux City and surrounding areas for over 14 years.
Janie is independently licensed in the State of Nebraska and currently works at “A Better Way” Therapy in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She provides clinical supervision to therapists in her office in addition to providing individual, family and couples therapy. She provides mental health consultation for the Early Head Start and Head Start programs in Dakota City/South Sioux City.
Janie is certified in PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy) through PCIT international and is trained in CPP (Child Parent Psychotherapy), which is therapy for children ages 0-5. Other areas of special focus are: mood disorders, abuse, and ADHD.
Nicholas Brown: LMHC, IADC – Heartland Counseling Services
Nicholas Brown, LMHC, IADC, received his education at the University of Central Missouri and Bellevue University, achieving Bachelor’s Degrees in Criminal Justice and Spanish and a Master’s Degree in Human Services (Mental Health Counseling). He has worked as a therapist in the Siouxland area for over five years and is currently employed at Heartland Counseling Services. Nicholas is bilingual (English / Spanish). He is a certified Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT) therapist through PCIT International. His primary areas of emphasis in practice are conducting children’s therapy, specifically PCIT; substance abuse counseling; and process addictions counseling. Nicholas also has experience counseling patients suffering with depression and anxiety, and children and adolescents with behavioral issues.
Robyn Watchorn-Newbrey – Prairie Psychological Services
Robyn Watchorn Newbrey was born and raised in Nebraska. She graduated from Hastings College in 1991 with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1998. Robyn is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Professional in Nebraska and a National Board Certified Counselor. Robyn owns her own private practice located in South Sioux City. She was in private practice at Prairie Psychological Services, Inc. in South Sioux City, NE for five years. Before that, she worked in the South Sioux City Schools, Hospice of Siouxland and Catholic Charities Domestic Violence Shelter.
Robyn has specialized training in Trauma Focused CBT, Grief Therapy, Play Therapy and Parent Child Interaction Therapy. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, families and adults. Robyn serves on the Dakota and Dixon County Mental Health Committal Boards and the Dakota County Foster Care Review Board.
She enjoys being active in her church, walking and spending time with her husband and children.
